Fees & Frequently Asked Questions

How long is a Counselling session?

Each appointment typically lasts 50 minutes

and we will usually meet once per week

What will happen in my first session?

Our first session will be an opportunity for you:

  • to share with me, what you would like support with

  • a chance for you to ask any questions you may have about the counselling process

  • to see if we are a good fit to work together

  • I will explain the Client Therapy agreement.

How long does Counselling last?

It depends on what you want support with, and how deeply you want to explore those areas in counselling.

Some clients I work with may be looking for a Short series of counselling sessions, usually for a specific issue and they feel that is enough for them.

Other clients I work with are looking for support over a longer period of time, to process more complex or longstanding issues, develop deeper self-awareness, and work through recurring patterns or challenges.

During your time with me, together we will regularly review, how long feels appropriate and find out what suits you.

Ultimately the choice is yours as to when you end counselling.

You can choose to end counselling whenever it feels right for you.

We can discuss this together during our sessions, and typically, we will aim to have an ‘ending session’. This provides an opportunity to reflect on what has been explored and processed, recognise the progress made, and mark the end of our work together.

You are welcome to re engage with counselling again in future.

How much does Counselling cost?

Weekly Counselling appointments (50 minutes)

£75

Fortnightly* Counselling appointment (50 minutes)

£85

Ad hoc* Counselling (80 minutes)

£150
This longer Ad hoc session allows more time and space to explore a particular issue or situation in greater depth, without the commitment of ongoing weekly counselling. Ad hoc sessions are generally offered to existing or previous clients who may benefit from some additional support, a space to revisit something that has come up, or time to process a particular situation in more depth.

*Please note, I typically offer Fortnightly and Ad hoc Counselling appointments to clients where appropriate, after completing no less than 6 sessions.
